NDIS Positive behaviour Support
We’re based in Pakenham and provide our services not only to the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne but also to the South Gippsland, Baw Baw, Wellington and Latrobe City Shires. This includes the towns of Leongatha, Warragul, Traralgon, Morwell, Mirboo North and Sale.
You know we will be there when you need us with our 24/7 support. Our holistic approach means that we will meet your unique needs by using a diverse range of approaches. This includes holistic, person centred and recovery orientated approaches.
Our Mental Health Nurses work with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, General Practitioners, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Support Workers to provide the ongoing mental health support needed.
NDIS Positive Behaviour Support
At Senate Nursing Services, we are committed and passionate in providing optimal mental health and forensic care with the aim of individuals regaining the capacity to participate meaningfully in personal and social goals through:
- Monitoring mental state, support compliance with treatment plan/medication and follow-up with the Treating Team
- Providing psychological support around building non-pharmacologic coping strategies, in hand with developing hobbies and interests
- Provision of psychoeducation in view of tailored treatment plan as well as risk management
- Provision of short term (respite), medium or long term accommodation
- Providing support with maintaining sobriety
- Provide support as detailed by the Behaviour Support Plan (BSP), along with the ongoing review and generation of BSP
- Where indicated, support with the re-establishment of relationships with family members
- Ongoing support by Multi-disciplinary team, aligned with ongoing input and support by Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, General Practitioners, Mental Health Nurses, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist and Support Workers

What type of mental health nursing does the ndis fund?
People with long-term disability resulting from a mental health condition may be able to become NDIS participants. However, not everyone with a mental health condition will experience disability that will be funded by the NDIS. The NDIS is only for people who experience severe and long term disability.
If you have a mental health condition and want to access the NDIS, you must provide evidence that:
- your mental health condition has caused difficulties in your everyday life AND
- the difficulties you experience as a result of your mental health condition mean you will likely always require NDIS support AND
- the difficulties you experience as a result of your mental health issue have substantially reduced your ability to do everyday activities.
The NDIS is not designed to replace community mental health services provided through the health system. The support provided by NDIS is designed to fund practical support for day to day living and assistance to access community services where a participant has a severe and long term mental health disability.
